I'm Sandy Hood, owner of Sannie Mae's Heirloom Foods. We are four generations of my Mother’s family dating back to my great-grandmother.  The recipes are from her family who lived and worked in Elkmont and Tremont, where my Mother was born, before the Great Smoky Mountain National Park was established.   
Gardening and canning was a way of life for our family and still is today.  After my Mom’s passing my dream was to share these original foods.  I began offering samples to family and friends and because of their continued requests for additional samples and lots of encouragement, Sannie Mae’s Heirloom Foods was established in January 2011.
